Bank holiday pharmacy opening times

Pharmacists are experts in medicines and can help you with minor health concerns. There are pharmacies open in Bradford district and Craven over the May bank holidays (Monday 3 and 31 May 2021). You do not need an appointment to get advice from a pharmacist but please follow their advice about social distancing and staying COVID safe if you do visit a pharmacy.

Using your pharmacy during the coronavirus pandemic

To prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), changes have been made to how you get medicines and advice from a pharmacy at the moment.

Try to call your pharmacy or contact them online before going in person. You can also order repeat prescriptions online.

Do not go to a pharmacy if:

  • you have symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste)
  • you live with someone who has symptoms
  • you’re at high risk from coronavirus

If possible, please wear a face covering if visiting a pharmacy and follow the social distancing guidance given by your local pharmacy.

What can pharmacists help with?

As qualified healthcare professionals, they can offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for a range of minor illnesses, such as coughs, colds, sore throats, tummy trouble and aches and pains.

If symptoms suggest it’s something more serious, pharmacists have the right training to make sure you get the help you need. For example they will tell you if you need to contact your GP practice.

All pharmacists train for five years in the use of medicines. They are also trained in managing minor illnesses and providing health and wellbeing advice.
